Hello, everyone!
I've been away for awhile rounding up some awesome professionals in the movie, video game and comic book art fields, with the intent of opening an entertainment art school in Denver, Colorado.
For those of you who know the Denver area, we are renting out the second floor of a huge warehouse/gallery in the Santa Fe Art District (841 Santa Fe Drive to be specific) and building it into classrooms. Our first term starts in March, and includes classes on comic book publishing, character and creature design for movies, video games, and comics, action anatomy, animal anatomy, jewelry prop making for movies, monster makeup and monster mask making.
Each term, our list of teachers and classes will grow, and I have some fantastic teachers waiting in the wings for when our computer lab is up, so they can teach the professional programs that get people work in the various entertainment fields.
The goal of the school is to let students learn the skills they want to learn to get into the entertainment field, and to help them create portfolios that will get them hired. This is unlike most expensive art colleges, that shoehorn everyone onto cookie cutter classes, charge them upwards of $15,000 per term, then send them on their way with sub-par portfolios and a $100,000 bachelor's degree that won't get them work.
The school is called the Denver Entertainment Art & Design Academy, or the DEAD Academy for short. Our phone number is 720-354-0264. Our email address is dead.academy.q@gmail.com.
Our web site is www.deadacademy.com Our FB page is [link] you know anyone who might be interested in our school, please forward the information!
If you have any questions, you can ask me here, as well.
Thanks!
Zak Hennessey
